  • 2 cups spelt flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add spelt flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  6. 6. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet. Add your favorite toppings and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
