Blooming Onion Recipe
A crispy, golden blooming onion perfect for appetizers or snacks.

- 1 Large Onion
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 Eggs
- as needed Oil for frying
1. Cut the top of the onion and peel it. Make cuts from the top down, but not all the way through, to create petals.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
3. In another bowl, whisk together milk and eggs.
4. Dip the onion into the milk mixture, then coat it with the flour mixture. Repeat for a thicker coating.
5. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Fry the onion until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
6. Remove the onion and drain on paper towels. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
