Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Butter softened
  • 3 Egg whites room temperature
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
