  • 2 cups Fresh Basil Leaves
  • ½ cup Sunflower Seeds toasted
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • ½ cup Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper freshly ground

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a food processor, combine basil leaves, toasted sunflower seeds, grated Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic.
  2. 2. Pulse until the mixture is finely chopped.
  3. 3. With the processor running, slowly add olive oil in a steady stream until the pesto is smooth and well combined.
  4. 4. Add lemon juice, salt, and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Pulse a few more times to combine.
  5. 5. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
