Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh mussels cleaned and debearded
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 shallot shallot finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic, shallot, and red pepper flakes. Cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add mussels, cover, and cook until mussels open, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Discard any mussels that do not open.
  6. Stir in parsley, salt, and pepper.
  7. Serve with lemon wedges.
