  • 2 cups grits quick-cooking
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add grits and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in cheese, milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
