Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sourdough starter fed and active
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs separated
  • ¼ cup Melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda

Instructions 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sourdough starter, flour, milk, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the egg yolks and melted butter to the mixture and stir until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
  5. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it.
  6. Just before cooking, stir the baking soda into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
