Ingredients 

Pretzel Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup baking soda for boiling
  • 1 large egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt for topping

Honey Mustard Dip

  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. 2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. 6. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and roll each piece into a stick shape.
  7. 7. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and the baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel stick for 30 seconds, then place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. 8. Brush each pretzel stick with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  9. 9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. 10. For the honey mustard dip, whisk together mayonnaise, honey, Dijon mustard, and yellow mustard in a small bowl.
  11. 11. Serve the pretzel sticks warm with the honey mustard dip.
