Ingredients

  • 8 pounds Pork Butt
  • ¼ cup Kosher Salt
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix together the kosher salt, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. 3. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork butt, making sure to cover all sides.
  4. 4. Place the pork butt in the smoker and smoke for about 8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
  5. 5. Remove the pork butt from the smoker and wrap it in aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes before shredding.
  6. 6. Shred the pork and serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
