Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 0.5 teaspoon saffron threads
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the rice and stir to coat with butter.
  5. Add the water, saffron with its soaking water, and salt.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
