Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rye flour
  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon Instant coffee granules
  • 2 tablespoon Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Caraway seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups Warm water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine rye flour, whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and instant coffee granules.
  2. 2. Stir in molasses, caraway seeds, salt, and active dry yeast.
  3. 3. Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. 7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. 8. Bake for 45 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. 9. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
