Ingredients

  • 2 Green Plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil for frying
  • to taste Salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the plantain slices and fry until they are golden, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. 3. Remove the plantains and drain on paper towels.
  4. 4. Using the bottom of a glass or a tostonera, flatten each plantain slice.
  5. 5. Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry again until crispy, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. 6. Drain on paper towels and season with salt to taste.
