Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken Thighs cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Five-Spice Powder
  • 1 cup Sweet Potato Starch
  • 2 cups Oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon White Pepper to taste
  • 1 handful Basil Leaves optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. Marinate chicken with soy sauce, rice wine, garlic powder, and five-spice powder for at least 15 minutes.
  2. 2. Coat marinated chicken pieces with sweet potato starch.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. 4. Fry chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. 5. Optionally, fry basil leaves for a few seconds until crispy.
  6. 6. Drain chicken and basil on paper towels. Season with salt and white pepper to taste.
