Pinto Beans with Mexican Style Seasonings

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Pinto Beans dried
- 6 cups Water
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Cumin ground
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper ground
1. Rinse and sort the pinto beans.
2. In a large pot, add the beans and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until beans are tender.
3. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
4. Add the sautéed onions and garlic to the pot of beans. Stir in the cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
5. Simmer for an additional 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning as needed.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
