Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Sea scallops large
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper freshly ground

Instructions 

  1. 1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  2. 2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  3. 3. Add the scallops to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms and the scallops are opaque in the center.
  4. 4. Add the butter to the skillet during the last minute of cooking and baste the scallops with the melted butter.
  5. 5. Remove the scallops from the skillet and serve immediately.
