Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sushi rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • ¼ cup Rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 lb Fresh fish (tuna, salmon, etc.)
  • Wasabi to taste
  • Soy sauce for serving

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat until sugar and salt dissolve. Let cool.
  4. Once rice is cooked, transfer to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture. Let rice cool to room temperature.
  5. Slice the fish into thin pieces.
  6. Wet your hands with water, take a small amount of rice, and shape it into an oval.
  7. Place a slice of fish on top of the rice and press gently.
  8. Serve with wasabi and soy sauce.
