Ingredients

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, mustard seeds, turmeric, salt, and peppercorns. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Place eggs and onion slices in a clean jar.
  4. Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the eggs and onions.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
