Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh fish (like tilapia or sea bass), diced
  • 1 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped optional
  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 avocado, diced optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced fish and lime juice. Make sure the fish is fully submerged in the lime juice. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, or until the fish turns opaque.
  2. 2. Add the chopped red onion, tomatoes, jalapeño (if using), cilantro, and salt to the bowl. Mix well.
  3. 3. If using avocado, gently fold it into the mixture just before serving.
  4. 4. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or on tostadas.
