Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 units Green plantains
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 unit Red onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. Peel and cut the plantains into 1-inch pieces.
  2. Boil the plantains in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
  3. Drain the plantains and mash them with butter and a bit of the cooking water until smooth.
  4. In a separate pan, sauté the red onion in olive oil until soft.
  5. Serve the mashed plantains topped with the sautéed onions.
