Main Ingredients
- 3 large eggs separated
- ½ cup granulated sugar divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup all-purpose flour sifted
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ cup powdered sugar for dusting
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add half of the granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
In another bowl, beat egg yolks with the remaining sugar and vanilla extract until thick and pale. Gently fold in the egg whites.
Sift flour and baking powder over the egg mixture and gently fold to combine.
Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a plain round tip. Pipe 3-inch long strips onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Dust the piped batter with powdered sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
