Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk

Soup

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Beat eggs and milk together, then add to the flour mixture to form dough.
  3. Roll dough into small balls.
  4. In a large pot, melt butter and sauté onions until soft.
  5. Add potatoes and chicken broth, bring to a boil.
  6. Drop dough balls into the boiling soup.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes and dumplings are cooked.
  8. Stir in heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
