Instructions
Prepare and bake the cake mix as directed on the box for a 9x13 pan. Let it cool completely.
Using a fork, poke holes all over the cooled cake.
In a bowl, mix the boiling water with the Jell-O until completely dissolved. Add the cold water and stir.
Pour the Jell-O mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it gets into the holes. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Spread the whipped topping over the cake. Serve chilled.
