Ingredients

  • 3 lbs oxtail
  • 2 tablespoon browning sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can butter beans, drained
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions 

  1. 1. Clean the oxtail and pat dry. Season with salt, black pepper, and allspice.
  2. 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown the oxtail on all sides.
  3. 3. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and thyme to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. 4. Stir in the browning sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. 5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the oxtail is tender.
  6. 6. Add the butter beans and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. 7. Serve hot with rice or your favorite side dish.
