Ham and Split Pea Soup Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Dried split peas
- 1 lb Ham bone
- 1 Large onion, chopped
- 2 Carrots, chopped
- 2 Celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 8 cups Chicken broth
- 2 cups Water
- 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- 2 pcs Bay leaves
- Salt to taste
Rinse the split peas under cold water.
In a large pot, combine all ingredients except salt. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Remove the ham bone, chop any meat, and return to the pot. Discard bay leaves.
Season with salt to taste. Serve hot.
