Gujarati Kadhi Recipe
A traditional Gujarati dish made with yogurt and gram flour, tempered with spices.

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 tablespoon Gram flour (Besan)
- 2 cups Water
- 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon Green chili paste
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- to taste Salt
Tempering Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 2 Cloves
- 1 Dried red chili
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (Hing)
- 8-10 Curry leaves
In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, gram flour, water, ginger paste, green chili paste, sugar, and salt until smooth.
Heat the mixture in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring it to a boil and then simmer for 10-15 minutes.
In a separate small pan, heat ghee and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, dried red chili, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
Pour the tempering over the simmering kadhi and mix well. Serve hot with rice or roti.
