Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole Chicken cut into pieces
  • 2 large Carrots sliced
  • 2 stalks Celery sliced
  • 1 large Onion diced
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 8 cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 cup Noodles optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, add the chicken pieces and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Remove the chicken and set aside to cool. Skim any foam from the broth.
  3. 3. Add carrots, celery, onion, and garlic to the pot. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. 4. Shred the cooled chicken and return to the pot. Add chicken broth, salt, pepper, and thyme. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
  5. 5. If using noodles, add them in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  6. 6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
