Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Steak (ribeye or sirloin) about 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs Thyme or rosemary

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your cast iron pan over high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. 2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. 3. Place the steaks in the hot pan. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until a crust forms.
  4. 4. Add garlic and thyme/rosemary to the pan. Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. 5. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. For medium-rare, it should be 130°F (54°C).
  6. 6. Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
