Main Ingredients
- 4 cups yams, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup butter melted
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, melted butter, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt.
Place the yams in a baking dish and pour the sugar mixture over them. Toss to coat evenly.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the yams are tender and the glaze is thickened.
Serve warm.
