Ingredients

  • 1 kg Pork Belly cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger sliced
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 2 star Star Anise

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the pork belly chunks and sear until browned on all sides.
  2. 2. Add the soy sauce, sugar, water, garlic, ginger, cinnamon stick, and star anise to the pot.
  3. 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Simmer for 2 hours, or until the pork belly is tender.
  4. 4. Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  5. 5. Serve the braised pork belly with steamed rice or your favorite side dish.
