Dough
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 cups cabbage, shredded
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour.
3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Add cabbage, salt, and pepper. Cook until cabbage is tender.
4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a circle, fill with beef mixture, and seal edges.
5. Place bierocks on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
