Ingredients 

Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  3. 3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Add cabbage, salt, and pepper. Cook until cabbage is tender.
  4. 4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a circle, fill with beef mixture, and seal edges.
  5. 5. Place bierocks on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
