Ingredients 

Stew Ingredients

  • 2 lb Beef Chuck cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 Carrots sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried
  • 2 cups Peas frozen

Dumpling Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef chuck cubes on all sides.
  2. 2. Add chopped onion, sliced carrots, and minced garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  3. 3. Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, and dried thyme. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  4. 4. Add frozen peas and cook for another 10 minutes.
  5. 5. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter to form a dough.
  6. 6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the simmering stew. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until dumplings are cooked through.
