Basic Beef Stock Recipe
A simple and hearty beef stock recipe perfect for soups and stews.

Main Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef bones
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 tablespoon tomato paste
- 10 cups water
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Place beef bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.
3. Transfer roasted bones to a large pot. Add remaining ingredients.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 4 hours.
5. Strain the stock through a fine mesh strainer.
6. Let cool, then refrigerate or freeze for later use.
