Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • as needed oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. 2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. 3. Fold in the chopped apples.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. 5. Remove fritters from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
