Instructions
1. Place the apples in a large pot and cover with water by at least 2 inches.
2. Add the sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange slices.
3. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 2 hours.
4. Use a potato masher to mash the apples once they are soft. Simmer for another hour.
5. Strain the cider through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean pot.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
